The disappearance of an Egyptian passenger plane with 69 passengers on board

ArabiaWeather.com - Sinan Khalaf - An EgyptAir passenger plane suddenly disappeared from the radar screens, just 10 minutes before it arrived at Cairo International Airport.

The disappeared plane had taken off from "Charles de Gaulle" airport in the French capital, Paris, heading towards Cairo, with 59 passengers on board, in addition to a crew of ten, on its way to Cairo.

According to EgyptAir, the plane - which bears the number 804 - took off at exactly 11:09 minutes Paris time, and disappeared from the radar in the early hours of dawn today, that is, at exactly two o'clock and 45 minutes in the morning Cairo time.

The statement issued by the company confirmed that the plane was 10 minutes away from the airport runway at the moment it disappeared from the radar screens, and that it was traveling at an altitude of 37,000 feet.

The Egyptian authorities immediately began searching for the missing plane through the use of search and rescue aircraft of the Egyptian Armed Forces, which began surveying the area of the plane's disappearance.
